Di Pietro, Francesca
February 03, 1931 - December 30, 2016
(née Di Meo) – Surrounded by family, Francesca passed away peacefully in the early hours of December 30, 2016 at the age of 85. She now joins the love of her life, her husband, Sebastiano, in heaven, who passed away in 1999. Loving mother of Frank Di Pietro (Rosa) and Lucy Pezzutto (Don). Beloved Nonna of Sebastian (Jacqueline), Daniel (Jolanta), Andrew (Rebecca), Antonio (Meghan) and Cristina (Matthew). Adored great-grandmother (“Nonni”) to Francesca, Lucas and Amelia. She is also predeceased by her parents, Salvatore and Maria Di Meo, brother, Domenico Di Meo, infant sister, Assunta, and mother and father-in-law, Lucia and Francesco Di Pietro. Dear sister-in-law to the late Antonio and Assunta Di Pietro, Anna and Eugenio Pocobene, Vittorio and Inesia Di Pietro, Carmelo Di Pietro and Nazzareno Di Pietro. Francesca was a caring and loving sister-in-law to Gemma Di Meo, Maria and Donato Di Pietro, Cesare and Elena Di Pietro. Cherished Zia Francesca to many caring and loving nieces and nephews in Canada and Italy. She was loved by many cousins, neighbours and friends. Francesca was a very special woman and was adored by everyone who knew her. She was happiest with family and always put their needs above her own. Francesca loved cooking, gardening, dancing, travelling, being adventurous, laughing and having a good time. She was a great storyteller and spread joy everywhere she went. Francesca was young at heart and brought out the best in everyone. Although she came from humble beginnings, she was always positive, filled with wisdom and faced her hardships with courage and dignity. Our family’s matriarch was a woman of strong faith and held a deep devotion to Santo Padre Pio. She was Nonna to everybody, and our special “Regina.” She leaves behind countless cherished memories and will be greatly missed by many. Francesca truly appreciated the people who touched her life and was always very grateful. Visitation will be held at WINDSOR CHAPEL (Banwell Chapel) 11677 Tecumseh Rd. E., 519-253-7234, on Sunday, January 1, 2017 from 2-5pm and 7-9pm with parish prayers at 7:30pm.
